HUGE "Off-Season Upgrades" for Tina Pierce Racing's Chevrolet Colorado
In a recent conversation about the upcoming Mid-West Drag Racing Series Throwdown in T-Town at Tulsa Raceway Park, David Pierce tells us "I have totally revamped this truck". Then he sends pics of the truck's roof laying on the ground!
The Colorado is well known from the years of racing different series and races across the country. Tina and David raced the truck at MWDRS events last year in the Top Sportsman class.
If you have followed their story at all, you know they are one of the most competitive #powercouples in all of drag racing. With the down time of the off-season, David took the cutting tools to the truck to make it lighter, faster and safer for the upcoming season!
The truck began life as a regular run of the mill street truck with the couple making upgrades based on the original truck chassis/platform. This move is a huge step forward, having cut the frame completely apart to redesign the entire front framing and suspension. This will allow more room, lower weight and better suspension adjustability for all the types of racing they intend to do in the future with the truck. The powerplant saw huge upgrades as well. Going from a stock bottom end 6.0 LS to a Carter's Engine 509 Cubic Inch big block! They are keeping the Compressed Air Supercharging system for the 2024 season.
Help us in wishing them the best of luck and we hope to see them at the Throwdown in T-Town May 10-11!
